Gichner Systems Group has over 43 years of experience as a leader in the design, engineering, manufacturing, systems integration, testing, modification, service, repair and reset of tactical shelters, shelter systems, modular containers, subsystems and support equipment for the United States Armed Forces, its Allies and leading defense prime contractors. The company has over 800,000 square feet of dedicated manufacturing space, with locations in Dallastown and York, PA, as well as Charleston and Walterboro, SC. This well established infrastructure allows for the fabrication of low-rate initial production (LRIP) prototype units up to full rate production (FRP) quantities. Gichner has provided the Warfighter with more than 32,000 tactical shelters and over 66,000 combat proven modular containers.

Gichner Shelter Systems (GSS Cage: 29381), a division of Gichner Systems Group, is a leading turn-key supplier of shelter systems that are designed, packaged and integrated for rapid mobility. Since 1969, GSS's core product has been tactical military shelters. Gichner's capabilities include engineering, system and subsystem design and integration, complete system test capabilities and world class manufacturing facilities. Gichner also specializes in the service, reset and repair of existing shelter and containerized systems.

While Gichner is justifiably proud of its core product and is committed to its excellence, the company has become much more diverse. Gichner's capabilities, resources and products have evolved beyond the basic shelter to increasingly emphasize system and subsystem integration. GSS has successfully designed, manufactured, installed and provided program support for subsystems, including power generation, power & signal distribution, HVAC subsystems, antenna integration, operator workstations, custom rack assemblies and cable assemblies.

In 2008, Gichner acquired Charleston Marine Containers Inc. (CMCI – Cage: 09PD1), a leading manufacturer of intermodal, modular intermodal and specialty container systems. CMCI sets industry standards in the design, development and delivery of steel shipping/storage distribution solutions for government, military and commercial customers.

In April of 2010, Gichner Systems Group became part of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. Kratos (Nasdaq:KTOS) is a specialized National Security technology business providing mission critical products, services and solutions for United States National Security priorities. Kratos' core capabilities are sophisticated engineering, manufacturing and system integration offerings for National Security platforms and programs. Kratos' areas of expertise include Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), satellite communication systems, unmanned systems, cyber warfare, cyber security, information assurance, critical infrastructure security and weapons systems sustainment.

In December of 2010, Gichner Systems Group acquired Southside Container (Cage: 3BRM5), an industry leader in the integration and modification of modular containers. Southside provides Gichner Systems Group with quick reaction and prototype manufacturing capability for a wide range of products, from basic steel containers to fully integrated military or disaster relief complexes.
